What do you get when you add John Travolta and non stop action? Well, the answer may surprise you. Travolta has missed the mark with his latest movie in which CIA operatives must thwart a terrorist attack in Paris. Travolta plays “Charlie Wax”, an eccentric CIA operative with a quick trigger finger and an even quicker wit. He takes an aspiring operative (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) on a joyride around Paris, taking on Parisian underworld elements
As Rolling Stones’ Peter Travers says, “From Paris With Love has no vital signs at all, just crushing dull repetition that makes one noisy, violent scene play exactly like the last one.” Rolling Stones Review
The film’s February 5 release was well publicized and finished 3rd in the Weekend Box Office Top 10. The movie grossed $8.2 million in the first week which is a far cry from Dear John’s $30.5 million. Commercials started in the first week of January for the Travolta’s latest film but it still could not compete with Dear John or Avatar.
Based on the trailer, this movie seems very exciting but if it was ever possible for there to be too much action, this film does it. Trailer
